Sustainability of rubber agroforestry strategies in boosting smallholders’ resilience to cope with the realities of new global challenges

In the face of a global pandemic, ever-present threat climate change and highly unstable economic social systems resource poor smallholder farmer is increasingly finding it harder to meet with daily challenges sustaining livelihood his family. This paper review smallholder’s rubber farmers, strategies adopted build resilience farmers technological adaptations sustain in Nigeria. The work looked at manipulation space or spacing techniques rubber-based agroforestry systems, mixed farming production, cropping patterns, soil nutrient weed management methods socioeconomic benefits smallholders. results indicated that RBAF helped rural increase family food supply, improved income reduced gestation period leading livelihood. will help attracting more smallholders plantation establishment, increased national production for local international markets industrial development related products.
